Has any company out there tried to make a modern pair of duck boots?

While browsing for some hunting boots I run into a few photos of some vintage duck boots. Since its making a fashion comeback in urban settings I just wondered if any company out there tried adapting it to a more modern pair of hunting boots. Such as better padding and treads etc...

I know modern boots will be far more comfortable to wear but just curious.

Please let me know if you have come across any :)

I would take a look at Schnees. They have more substantial footbeds than Beans, and a number of their models are available with a thicker, "bob" sole tread, if that's your preference. Handmade in Montana, lifetime warranty and completely rebuildable if they ever wear out.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I've tried a number of "modern" boots that were nowhere near as comfortable as my Schnee's Guide boots. And keep in mind that the softer, more flexlble sole of a typical 'duck' or 'pac' boot is intentional, it's not because they aren't 'modern' in design. They were originally designed for hunting, where such a sole allows one to move much more quietly than a heavy, stiff, lug-sole boot does. They are certainly the quietest hunting boots I've ever worn, and are what I use for most of my bowhunting, unless I know I'm going to be in really steep, rocky terrain.

I picked up 13in Bog boots that are hands down the best hunting/fishing boots I have ever owned, awesome tread and toe reinforcement and rated to -40

That is after wearing out a previous pair

They are comfortable the first day
