has any one moded the Ontario Air force survial knife?

well, i was sanding down the handles on some of my cold steel trail hawks so i could stain them, then the next moment i found myself sanding the finish off of my air force survival knife. now that i screw up the finish i think i might as well mod it more.
if any of you have mods that you like and recommend that would be awesome.
i think im going to,
1.) sand off all of the black finish and put a satin finish,
2.) remove most of the upper guard,and
3.) re-shape the stacked leather handle.

if you can make a roadtrip down this way, i can let you use my belt sander and help you do whatever you want to do. i'm sure there are a few other things that you can think of once you get started.

There ya go. I actually am picking one of these up myself for a project soon! I am going to strip it, grind off top guard and shorten bottom guard, convex it, add a choil, polish, and patina it. Maybe you'll end up wanting to as well.
