Has any one really tested the lock on the marksman? I'm wounding how strong it really is.

I remember seeing a video from shot show stating its Buck's strongest lock they've tested. They tested it up to 600 pounds.

Yes, Buck did. No large corporate knife manufacture would sell a knife without destructive testing of the lock, blade, handle, etc. Too much liability.
 
No. Side to side lock strap movement isn't helpful. Tighten the two top screws hella tight. I use a high quality hex tool 1/16".

I tested over strikes, spine whack, chopping and torquing. Not once did the lock budge or mangle in any way. Not scientific but it takes average abuse with ease that most liner, frame and back locks will not. I made sure the strap was tight as heck and pulled upward when tightened for no chance of movement. Best I can say from my phone, killing time at a baby shower.
The lock can be adjusted by anybody. I made sure that mine was extremely tight and locked up at 90 % engagement and would not budge.
I have not attempted these tests for some time. All I really care about is the great lock up in any grip and in tight places.
