Personally I feel the Busse Battle Pappy would make a excellent woods knife. Am I wrong? But I have yet to see anyone who has not filed this away as too pretty to touch. Somebody prove this statement wrong with some pics!

I am sure there is some one out there using and enjoying them. Part of the problem, is a lot of the people who bought one have many large choppers that are already users.

When they have a handful of users, no real pressing reason to use the new one.

I sure wish I had one!

I would also like to see that. I haven't actually seen one firsthand but I wonder how comfortable and usable the handle is.

Too many nice Busse knives go unused :(

The Battle Pappy is for BATTLE. I've heard it can be excellent for a morning shave as well.....if you're skillful enough....

i just got one and it is awesome,,like a trail master on horse steroids!!i will use mine this summer and post some pics when i do.i have no doubt it will perform like other big busses.the blade is sweet, starts out an .32 and tapers very nicely to a very pointy tip,[but not to thin]the handle is nice and comfy also.

Is the Battle Pappy a limited run or will it be available for purchase in the future through the Busse Co. site or Busse store?

Sorry fellas I was thinking of the War Dog... :o

Limited run produced by Scrap Yard, not Busse Combat, that will not be seen again.

Really? I thought it was a Custom Shop original? It is reminiscent of the Battle Guard which was Swamp Rat, if I'm not mistaken. :)

The Battle Pappy is a Busse Combat knife, I believe it was offered through a preorder at the AG russell knife show

The war dog was the recent limited run of infi and Res-c knives from the Yard. Scrapyard has never done a micarta handled knife, due to costs

Sorry for the confusion fellas, I'll try sticking to reading the forums in the morning before coffee and no replies until after. :foot:

No worries. Who can keep War Dogs and Battle Pappies straight when you haven't had any White Dog or Old Pappy Van Winckle yet that day? :D

I haven't used mine!

Unless putting it up on display is considered using.

I think I'm turning into a Bravado; safe queens only!
