Well I guess I was wrong.Made in Texas is correct. Yoakum, Texas to be exact. A rare example in it's original packaging.

Well I guess I was wrong.
I had seen a few Torel belts marked Sheplers and just assumed they owned the brand.
Searching Torel inc yields more results including slings.
I can find no definitive answer but it seems like they're no longer in business.
If that's the case I'd guess they probably went under in the past 15-20 years.
I'm not sure how I care for the shape of their sheaths, but the quality does look pretty good.
Thanks for turning up this info.
I figured there was definitely some kind of connection, they just aren't a mere house brand like I first thought.I believe you were right the first time.
On the left is a paper insert that accompanied a Torel wallet, on the right a Torel-Sheplers belt. They both have the same bull logo. Looks to me like there's a definite connection.

It's possible that Torel was once an independent company that was later acquired by Sheplers. But that's just speculation on my part.

A Torel invoice. Added just to provide another example of the logo, with Yoakum, Texas.

I understand what you are saying about the shape. Probably done that way to fit a variety of knives not just one. I agree, for production work the leather is pretty decent and the work is niceWell I guess I was wrong.
