I'm thinking about a design that would help me establish a better and more even grind when I make/repair/improve my blades. Is there any out there comercially or home-made?Any designs would be very helpful.
Thanks.

If your looking for a rod and hone that works with the Lansky clamp the DMT one will work and you can change the hone to different grits. Back when I used a Lansky I also made one out of wood but after getting the DMT one I never needed it.

I'm looking for something for BIG bastard files so I can set perfectly flat grinds when I make knives.

I'm not sure this is what you're talking about but --

I bought a Case Paddle Sharpener and rigged it (filed the slots) to accept DMT duo-fold diamond sharpeners. The duo-fold sharpeners sit at approx 22º. They work very well in the Case board and with some experimentation you can sharpen blades of most all lengths.

If you wanted, you could drill out the rivets and remove the handles from the duo-folds alltogether.

Oops - didn't realize this thread was started so long ago. Anyway, the moded sharpener I showed above works great.
