Has anyone considered polymer clay for handles?

I have a trailer master blade i'd like to re-handle, unfortunately I have no equipment to do the shaping and finishing. I saw some polymer clay information and thought that if this was as durable as they claim, it might make a decent knife handle and can be shaped easily without a grinder.

Polymerclay, similar to PVC in composition, can be cured at low temperature and is moldable before curing.

has anyone considered it before?

I personally don't think it will make a user handle. But would work for a display piece.
