I think I'm going to finally pull the trigger on one, but I was wondering if it has a strong detent without the torsion bar? I'm still going to buy it and I do like assisted knives, but I prefer manual knives.
The BladeForums.com 2024 Traditional Knife is available! Price is $250 ea (shipped within CONUS).

Thanks very helpful of you.I just replaced a broken torsion bar on one of my blurs and it had very weak detent with out the torsion bar. It was on a S30v model so im assuming that all the others are made that way. I do not know if I would remove the assist on the Blur its a great set up. I EDCed my S30v one for all most a full year when I first got in to knives and it never once opened in my pocket. It how ever did wear out and got real weak and then broke in to 2 parts. I sent A mail to Kershaw about it and about a week later I had 2 new torsion bars and a new pocket clip to replace the beat up on I had on the knife, all at no charge.
Your best bet would be to take out the torsion bar and give it a try you can always put the bar back in just remember to pack the torsion bar in white lithium grease when you put it back. Blurs are great knives you cannot go wrong and like me you will end up owning a few before its said and done.
