handled several CRKT knives at a mall last night(ones with the single and double flippers or hilts) and they seem to be OK except for the little flipper (and the one model that has the 2 flippers is almost impossible to put in your front pocket) and to me the extra lock seems a bit much.

Has anyone dremeled off the little flipper and can the extra lock be removed without major surgery.

Like the knives, like the looks, fair price, just don't like the little finger flipper or extra lock.

any input? thanks

Uhm, IMO the flipper is the best feature the CRKT M16 series offers...I agree with you that the double flipper is a bit bulky though.
I'm sure it can be dremeled off, but make sure the whole area is properly cooled because otherwise you might destroy the heat treat.

I just got a M16-13LE for Christmas and like the knife and think the flipper is the best part but what I don't like is the thumb stud and how rough it is. It's tearing up my jeans and my thumb. I would wan't to know if anybody has filed the thumb stud down just far enough to get the sharp part off?

I don't see the need for the thumb stud when you have the flipper. It can stay just neededs to be dulled.

Anybody have any ideas on how to do this?
