Has anyone else received a dull 311?

I just received my 311 today and I love how it feels in the hand. I am anticipating a lot of use with it for detailed tasks and edc, but it's a little on the dull side. Anyone else have a similar experience with their 311 or is it just mine?

I've seen a lot of nicely polished and convexed rats and dogs in here. This maybe a good opportunity to have the 311 "done up". This thing would be awesome with a full convex. Can anyone recommend a forum member/service provider that would undertake it and do a good job? Thanks in advance.

Mine "needed" a few minutes with a fine diamond stone and a ceramic stick. But I'm picky about how I like my edges. I love this knife!

Yeah, thanks bud. I'm by no means trashing the yard or even saying that it needs go back. This thing feels awesome and I know how to sharpen a knife. I was just wondering if anyone else had the same experience. Take it easy :)

All good man!! :) Just wasn't sure if you'd seen that sticky :)

There were a few dull blades that went out a while ago and some peeps got very nasty about it before even talking to the source.

Let's see that little beauty sharpened up and have the schnott beaten out of it ;)

My 511 came dull but I sharpened it myself. You can always send it back in for sharpening.

I had an issue with a previous model and Jerry took care of it right away. Email Renee, she is awesome and they will take care of it right away.

Sorry to hear about your experience. Fortunately, every Busse kin knife I have ever received came with a decent to good edge. Think of this as an opportunity to put a sweet convex on it.
I personally prefer to put my own edges on this type of knife. It probably took me 20 yrs to learn how to sharpen a knife properly to my finicky standards (i.e., all I have to do is show the knife to the hairs on my arm and they leap away from the blade in fearful anticipation... But, a lot of people (actually most) have little to no experience with establishing an edge angle and rely on the factory for the initial edge angle that they can follow.
I think it's great that you can send your knife to the factory for sharpening, but that's also a huge inconvenience that shouldn't be necessary.

Still waiting on my 311s so I can't say. If sending my 511 back was practical I probably would have as it was a bit dull, that said it didn't take me long at all to get it sorted out. My 511 Mil Over was VERY sharp.

I hope you get them soon. This thing is outstanding. Yeah, I think I would like to polish and convex this blade. It would be a force to be reckoned with. I've never convexed a blade before so does anyone know who might do it for me at a reasonable rate? I'd like to learn on something other than my 311 ;) Thanks guys
