And been tempted to buy them, and switch the blades over, just so you can have an AFCK or a 710 that's Fire engine red?

Other than that, look at the prices!!!! I doubt they'll get many sales for trainers costing that much....

At least their sharpening QC won't be a problem (alright! sorry, couldn't resist)

Yeah, I thought about it. I picked up two of the 710 trainers, and while tempted, I think I'll leave them red to signify what they are.

Someone recently made a great suggestion at the BM forum regarding these. They will make great "introductory" knives for handling and mock cutting when one's kids are old enough.

In the meantime, the trainers are serving quite well in practice. I'm glad that BM decided to make a trainer version of the knife that often finds it's way in my pocket. Maybe they need to make a 705 trainer as well

It's wild that the blades on the trainers are GIN1. You could conceivably sharpen them and have swiss-cheese/ulu-type 710 blades!
