Just as the title says...has anyone else sharpened the swedge on their Zaan. I used the flats on my SM. I use the swedge a lot more since I sharpened it.

I use the swedge for cutting my name my wife's name and address of off mail before I recycle it.

I think the tip of the swedge my might be sharper than the tip of the blade.

Pics aren't going to show anything. I can feel it with my finger or thumb tho.

I'm thinking about sharpening the swedge on my large Insingo too.:D I got my Insingo about 10 months ago and haven't used it

yet. I think I may have already sharpened the swedge.

Yup, I keep the first 10mm or so of the swedge sharp, same for my Regular Sebenza. I use the sharp swedge all the time as a sacrificial edge or for scoring/scraping stuff or unzipping packages etc. :)

My Umnumzaan came with a sharp swedge. It wouldn't shave cleanly, but it would get a few hairs if I tried.

And, yes, I maintained it sharp before I gave it away. I used a diamond loaded strop.

My Wilson Combat was the same, I was surprised it was as sharp as it was.

I didn't like the knife, but the swedge being sharp never struck me as a problem. It certainly never gave me any problems in the pocket.

It came sharper on my three new-pivot Zaans (left, right and Wilson Combat) than on my single old-pivot model.

CRK must have decided to make it more useful.

Noticed on my Insingo while I had it that it, too had a pretty sharp edge. Surprised me. Looks like it could not stab through anything with that blade shape, but hold a newer one and you'll think again.
