Has anyone ever done this?

Ever since I got into knives I've wondered if anyone has ever made blades for there knives out of different steel.
For example: Making a blade out of s30v compatible with a tenacious.

I would love a 1095 blade for my para 2.
No really reason to the question just pure curiosity

I tried to do just a prototype with cheap metal bar stock. Didn't even add the grind or put an edge on, just tried to make the pivot area work. I couldn't get it, but then again I only had a dremel to work with. I'm sure if you've got some skill you can make it work.

There are some knife makers who specialize in rebuilding old knives - usually because of sentimental reasons. So yes it has been done. But they might have qualms about infringing on another makers knife. You could contact the service department for the knives you have listed to see if they would make a blade for your knife. If you have the skill to make the blade yourself, for your personal use, I don't believe you would be infringing on the companies rights. But, I am not a lawyer and do not know for sure. Let us know what transpires.

I do sometimes, but it generally turns out that the blade it has works better than the one i made........ VG10 for the tenacious worked really well

I've thought about replacing my stretch cf (zdp189) blade with elmax or s90v. I would leave maybe 0.02mm extra blade thickness over all, plus 0.1mm for the pivot area extra thick before ht + shrinkage factor if any. Or do whatever profile & geometry you want, only keep the pivot area match the original, as long as the blade fit when open & close. Back-lock is simple but other lock can be tricky.

It's more likely that I will buy a srm/enlan/etc.. toss the blade and put in my steel & ht of choice.

I'm not really looking to have this done I was just wondering if it was done because I see people all the time acid-stonewashing the blades and putting different scales and all this and that so it just made sense to me to swap blade steels

i've already seen a carbon damascus blade for 551 griptilian. same profile, same grind etc. axis lock may be the easier for this, the blade/lock interface is pretty simple.

I think Kevin Wilkins makes some damascend griptillian blades.

I have commissioned Damascus and Stellite blades for factory handles. There are also custom blades offered for factory knives.

I'd buy them from you ...

I think a hammered marks forged ffg 52100 with high rc in a modern scale would be quite cool for edc.
