Has anyone ever spray painted the Zytel Scales on a Cold Steel Ti-Lite?

I really like the Cold Steel Ti-Lite, except for one thing, they're just a bit too plain for my taste. The Stiletto Switchblades they're modeled after tend to be far more decorative, with wooden or pearl scales, but the Ti-Lite just comes with plain black Aluminum or Zytel scales, or the Kris Blade models with OD Green or Brown Zytel scales.
Sadly, there really aren't any aftermarket options either, unless you count those ridiculous Viking Brass Scales you see online that cost more than the knife itself and really make no sense whatsoever from a thematic standpoint on an Italian-style blade.

But I was thinking, maybe they could be spray painted at least. Yeah, I know, it probably wouldn't look that great, but I'm wondering if anybody has ever done it before and how it came out in the end. I tried Googling it, but got nothing.

You can buy Ceracote spray can with your choice of color.
look for the type that doesn’t require high heat for curing.
‘With this type of coating prep is everything, you’ll have hard time cleaning the Zytel but it’s doable.
‘Auto paint supplies stores sell spray can with adhesion agent for polymer bumpers, it’s good to use it before your primer.
‘I would strongly suggest a very thin coat of automotive Urethane primer first and after good curing, spray your color.
‘Urethane can come in similar color as your Ceracote pick and will give you very good adhesion between scales and paint.

Zytel is just DuPont's fancy brand name for nylon.
Sure, you can paint it, since you can paint anything. The real question you should be asking is if painted nylon is durable, and the answer is "perhaps".
Expect painted nylon to scratch, scuff and chip if you EDC the knife.

Fabric paint may work better than typical rattle can paints from the HW store.
If the scales are light colored, you should look into dying them with fabric dye lite Rit. A lot of people choose this method to change the color of polymer scales.

Rit. Didn’t think about it but yes, you can dye the Zytel scales with it, in fact there is a guy in Instagram that does it very well.
‘I’ll see if I can find it and post it.
