If so, how was it? Was it amazingly sharp? How long did it take? Give me your full opinion on the system, i am seriuosly considering one.

It's great, and gets very sharp just like other stone-based systems. I can get hair-whittling with S125V, even though this steel is not supposed to be able to get sharp. The stock coarse stones cut very slow and loads up easily though. I recommend the diamond and custom stones.

Hi There

Yes I have. Sent a four inch blade to him. Came back sharp with a very shiney edge. I did buy an Edge pro Apex but knever could get it to work as good as Ben Does

My opinion by a DMT Alinger and save alot of money.

Eric.

Do you remember how long it took to get it back?

No, I never did get a sample sharpening, but I did buy an Apex and later on, the Pro model. The edges you can get are surreal, assuming a good knife. I'm not sure how long a sample sharpening takes, but I suggest you contact Ben and simply ask him. His customer service is a model for how CS should be done- he will take very good care of you, before, during and after the sale. No one stands behind their stuff any better than Ben.

And don't be discouraged if you can't sharpen as well as the guy who invented it!;) He's a frickin' genius, and he's been sharpening for three or four decades. First time I used mine I got a knife sharp...or what seemed like sharp to me at the time. In reality there's a learning curve to the EP. It ain't like a toaster where you push the button and it pops up sharp 90 seconds later. It helps if you already understand how to sharpen. If you don't is will honestly take you a bit longer. But as the weeks go by you'll re-evaluate your definition of sharp. Did you once think a knife that could shave hair was sharp? Soon you won't consider it sharp until you can shave the fingerprints off your fingertips without drawing blood, and cut individual letters of newsprint off the morning paper without going thru the sheet. Learning that won't take you decades or even years- we're talking months.
