Has anyone ever used a texturing swage?

Saw this on a tool website and was wondering if any of you spiffy knife guys ever used a texturing swage.

Obscure thought was maybe on wrought iron side plates, never heard of anyone using one of these before on a knife.

This comes to mind. I don't see it being very effective to hand apply it, especially if you want it all nice and even. It seems more feasible to do like WE did it by CNC'ing the pattern.

The simplest way to have texturing dies is to let a new blacksmith ... The bracelet pattern was made with a hammer that I used a zip disk to it...

If you'd make them a lot smaller it could work on bolsters/guards etc

If you think thats funny, a 4lb leaves a hammer dent that looks exactly like diamond plate, some asshole deliberately tool marked an entire sheet.

My thoughts were using it on the sides of a knife
