Has anyone ever used a texturing swage?

This comes to mind. I don't see it being very effective to hand apply it, especially if you want it all nice and even. It seems more feasible to do like WE did it by CNC'ing the pattern.

If you think thats funny, a 4lb leaves a hammer dent that looks exactly like diamond plate, some asshole deliberately tool marked an entire sheet.

My thoughts were using it on the sides of a knife
