Has Anyone Ever Worn Out A Sebenza?

I'm just wondering if the concept of wearing out the action is largely theoretical or if it's really a factor over the long haul with these knives. My personal experience: I carried the same Sebenza for more than 10 years with no appreciable wear, other than cosmetic marks on the scales and a few scratches on the blade.

I’m sure more knowledgeable people could chime in, but with the way it’s built and materials used I don’t see it ever “wearing out.”

I have about three years on my Sebenza and it’s just getting broke in!

There have been a couple that have had the lockside replaced, but I don't know if they truly wore it out or it had a bad heat treat to the lockface. CRK took care of the problem.
I sent a Sebenza in for spa treatment and they determined it had a bad heat treat to the lockface, and re-treated it. They told me it would wear out prematurely if I didn't have the work done.
It's certainly not a common occurrence.

I'm sure if you fidget with one and open/close it several hundred cycles per day, it will wear out sooner than under normal usage.

My knife, my backyard, my tree and with my camera.WTH you talking about?!
My Diamond plate on the same tree![/QUOTE]

My bad, I apologize. But I have LITERALLY taken that exact photo of my umnum in a tree in my yard. I'll try to find it when I'm able.

It is a very lovely shot, and a great knife.

I found the snowy tree shot series of my Umnum!
