Has anyone figured out a way to fix the gimping on the Ontario Rat 1?

I absolutely love the knife, but the gimping flat out sucks. I've heard of people using a dremal tool to fix it but I am not sure how to do it. Help please?

If it already has a little bit of jimping then just make it slightly deeper with the dremel. Also if you want to make the top of the jimping flatter with the dremel. But I would probably wait until someone who knows more than me replies.

This goes to show how difficult it must be to be a knife MFG and make everyone happy. I think the jimping on the RAT 1 folder is just right.

I fixed my Rat-1 with a Dremel, and it made a big difference in utility. The problem with the stock jimps is the rounded points offer poor traction. I ground off the points to form small mesas instead. This created two sharp edges at each mesa, one at the pivot end and one at the blade tip end. These sharp edges engage my skin without cutting it and increase the traction notably.

i'm actually carring mine today....and i think the jimping it quite nice on it....not as good as some of my other knives, for for a wal-mart priced knife...it's G2G. I just wish it had better blade steel...

It needs to be fixed? The jimping definitely wasn't among the things I disliked about the Rat-1.
