Has anyone lost an Assisted Opening knife and hoped they didnt' find it...

...by it opening accidentally?

I've lost my "Needs Work", I'm afraid somewhere in the couch--oh yeah much less manly than in the woods, but you know how it goes you take it out to strop it or cut something and you're sitting down and next thing you know it's gone. I can't ever keep track of the remote either.

So yeah anyway I was digging around in the creases of the couches and remembered a nasty little upholstery staple that I've caught my hand on before ( looking for the remote of course ) and then thought to myself "I'm worried about a staple when I could accidentally disengage that blade and really hurt myself."

Now I'm basically thinking about finding this knife kind of like one would think of finding a mouse-trap by hand in the dark.
 
I'd take my chances with the mouse trap over a classic game of couch knife roulette. Maybe go in with a pencil first and see if you can hit something metal so at least you have an idea of where it may be.
 
Crunched up tight in a couch it would be very unlikely your knife would pop open...I'd take my chances. Although, sounds like a good excuse to start lookimg for a new knife. And if the knife just happens to shows up, then you got a spare one
