Has anyone modified the blade shape on their Dodo?

I ask because I just received mine -- a used, excellent condition specimen -- from a fellow forumite, and the only thing that I don't totally love about this knife is the shape of the blade. It's interesting, sure, and kinda vicious in a way, and seems plenty strong... but I just prefer a blade with a normal convex curvature -- and zero recurve of any kind. I went against my standard feelings to buy this knife, but like they say on Monty Python, "It was a bargain! And I guess I have enough of the knives I want for use and it's nearing time to start buying knives that just round out a collection, from the standpoint of eclecticism (if that's a word).

But has anyone ground their Dodo's "beak" down to be a sort of drop point or modified Wharncliffe? Will Spyderco release the Dodo with a more conventional blade? (That'd be sweeeeet!)

Actually, what I'd like best is to see the ball-bearing lock used in other pre-existing Spyderco models, like the Military, or the Native.

Thoughts? Experiences?

It cuts like crazy the way it is. The combination of belly and recurve makes it one of my best cutters. I would not change the shape of the blade

I second that.
This shape is giving maximum cutting power for such a small blade.
The DODO is 100% workhorse: ergonomy, safe lock, incredible cutting power !!!

I could see a modified cutting edge, a less radical point and recurve, although I like the DoDo as is -- there are a lot of "ordinary" blade shapes out there already. :) Still and all, the handle shape is very effective and it would be interesting to see how it worked with another blade.

I definitely like the idea of a ball lock on other models. I don't know if it would make sense in production terms. Is it easier to manufacture a lockback than a ball lock, for example? We are talking about a few small parts to assemble. They look neater to work with than an axis lock, but is it worth the extra work over what's there now?
