I ask because I just received mine -- a used, excellent condition specimen -- from a fellow forumite, and the only thing that I don't totally love about this knife is the shape of the blade. It's interesting, sure, and kinda vicious in a way, and seems plenty strong... but I just prefer a blade with a normal convex curvature -- and zero recurve of any kind. I went against my standard feelings to buy this knife, but like they say on Monty Python, "It was a bargain! And I guess I have enough of the knives I want for use and it's nearing time to start buying knives that just round out a collection, from the standpoint of eclecticism (if that's a word).
But has anyone ground their Dodo's "beak" down to be a sort of drop point or modified Wharncliffe? Will Spyderco release the Dodo with a more conventional blade? (That'd be sweeeeet!)
Actually, what I'd like best is to see the ball-bearing lock used in other pre-existing Spyderco models, like the Military, or the Native.
Thoughts? Experiences?
