Has anyone ordered a Byrd Wings yet?

I didn't see them at the outlet last week. Maybe I just missed them. Looks worth checking out. I like carrying a knife with two blades. Sometimes a clip is nice when you don't want a traditional slippy in your pocket.

I'd be curious how Wings feels in the hand with only one blade deployed. Does the closed blade get in the way of a decent grip?

I always liked the seeming utility of the Dyad design, but was never fortunate enough to handle one.

I should have mine arriving today. I will try to do a quick review when I get home.

DavidZ, if possible I would appreciate some in hand pictures. I'm curious myself as to how well this feels in hand. I have a micro-dyad coming in the mail that I share similar concerns with.

From a comfort standpoint, I'd bet that, like the various Dyads, it will be ok for short-term use, but not something you'd want to use if the task at hand was opening an entire pallet of cardboard cartons. But, since most "EDC" cutting involves one or two cuts, half a dozen tops, it should be fine for most folks.

I just got home, and they were there. Thanks Knife Center - great service! I got not only the Byrd Wings, but a Tenacious plain edge as well. Sort of a China products day. Now - Just to set the stage, I am older (54), and while I have seen some good China made products, I do not expect the most from them.
Initial impressions - WOW! They are much, much more than I expected. I was looking for a good knock around knife, but these are both superb. Very Smooth action, and outstanding F&F, as well as lock-up. I will continue this after I pick up my kids from practice.
Dave.

OK... I am back I did a full inspection, and some cardboard cutting. The fit and finish on this knife is outstanding. I honestly could not find even a nit-picking problem. It even appears to have PB washers in the pivot area. It feels good in the hand. Vivi - If you really clench down on it, the closed blade would get annoying, but for 99.9% of the time, it would be a non-issue. As a Lefty, I had to reach across with my thumb to engage the opening hole, but with my X-large hands, it was not a problem. Make no mistake, this is a big knife. 4.75 inches closed. But not heavy. Open back design, and all screw construction.
Sal - This company did you right. Absolutely nothing to complain about. Give them an 'atta boy for me. They deserve it! :)

Vivi - Pics per your request! Not the best, but it will give you an idea.

Dave.

PS, The Tenacious is great too!!

Thanks for the pictures. It's much bigger than I expected. Will probably get one, though. I've been wanting one of the dyad-type knives after handling a friend's, but I can't hack the price tag for a Spyder dyad. This looks like it will fit the bill well.

One question, though, how thick is it?

Very pleased with the build quality of the Wings.....the three liners are equally thick (around 1.5mm? to my ruler)... the clip has 4 position capablity, really sharp blades that lock up tight and solid
