Has anyone ordered a the 28" racing axe handle from Bailey's?

aren't they made by the chicoms? i would not touch it with my MIL...;)
id save my $ up and get a real one. sorry... i just dont like stuff from china...

Dudes, I'm just looking at the handle...not the racing axe. I need something that will fit the huge eye in my 4 lb. jersey.

Also, I think more pics of your avatar are in order, Operator.

I'm still trying to figure out what "MIL" is??? Mother in law???? :D

So, are you agreeing to pass on your racing experience? Thanks for the invite, I can probably make it up your way in late January!! :D

The reviews for that axe at Bailey's have some negative comments about the handle.

Good call, Steve. There were no reviews for the replacement handle, but I didn't think to check the reviews of the axe. I'll keep looking...

I bought two from Hickoryhandlestore, for 2 of my jerseys. They needed some working down, but worth it.

Mine were perfect grain.

Looks like they are out of those, Skog. I will contact them and see what else may fit. Thanks!

Hickoryhandlestore sent me an "unfinished" brush axe handle that I'll be using for an old hewing axe. It just has a big rectangle of wood at the top instead of a teardrop shape. That could be an option for you although it would be a lot of whittling and spokeshaving.

Thanks for that tidbit as well. I'll look into that.

Memphis -

What specs you looking at? I might have one. Though I think you need a longer neck for that jersey right? Or do you need a larger around neck, or both? Damn jerseys anyway.

Cool. Here's the specs on the eye:

Widest point: 7/8"
Length: 3 1/16"
Height: approx. 4 1/4" from the bottom of the lugs to the top

Thanks, Operator!

Edit to add: I was hoping to get something around 30 to 32" long and curved, like a french pattern or something.

That must be a beast of a head.
