#Has anyone purchased a buck strider solution fixed blade yet?

I,ve only seen them for sale atone web site. I,d like to hear about blade thickness, and grind.

I bought one the first day TAD had them on their site.

http://www.tripleaughtdesign.com/buck_strider_solution.htm will get you a picture.

Quick, unprofessional review:

Scary sharp. Will cut a hanging piece of paper like a razor. Hair jumped off my arm out of the way rather than be cut by the blade.

Light. Blade is .190 thickness. Really makes a difference compared to 1/4 inch stock like a Strider EB.

G10 scales are rough, but not as rough as Strider G10. Good grip.

Is it worth $150? Yes.

Haven't really done anything else with it. I'm trying to decide whether to keep it as a user or sell it and get a Strider EB-S. Hard decision as the Strider is $325.

Ravenn, where is Bonnieville?

Marak..thanx for the info, I can't get TAD to come up..really sounds interesting...
Going to the NKCA show in L.ville in April?? I,m going to look at them then
I,m about 1 hor south on I-65
Live in the stix..get together at the show?? Maybe come down to the farm and "practice" some reliance skills??

I'm going to try and make it to the show. There will probably be at least two or three of us that should try and get together then.

Thanks to you and Mark for the info and the pic..this one definatly bears some consideration. I,m not high enough on the hog to be a collector, just a user, this one looks like a great all around woods, hunting, fishing, falling in the river knife.
Mark..I,ll get with you privatly..Thanks pard.

Great knife! Begs to be used. Like marklee said, "scary sharp". My new backpacking knife. Sheath is made by SOE (same sheaths used for Striders) - well made and bulletproof. Pouch is very handy - too small for my Swisstool, but perfect for my SAK Rucksack!

A BG-42 version is supposed to be released later in the year. I'm planning on getting one as well.:D

I bought a Buck/Strider Solution from Knifeoutlet. Must agree about the scary sharp edge. The G-10 provides a very good grip, but is not irritating. One thing about the blade thickness, I measured mine with a dial caliper and it came out .156 Triple Aught Design originally had this knife listed as .15625 stock, and later changed it to .190 Don't know why it was changed, but mine is definately .156 Knifeoutlet has them for $139.95, and IMHO, it is worth every penny:)

I did a little research here at Buck and Found that the official Thickness is .175-.180. Not sure why the Ad says .190. I don't see document thickness change, but I'll chat with our engineer and find out when change took place from .156.
I measure some BG-42 blades in production and they are definitely at .175-.180
I hope this helps.

Well if mine isn't .19 then I want my money back!:D :D :D

Seriously, it's a great knife. In my earlier reply I stated I was thinking about selling it and getting Strider EB-S, but every time I go there I think about the quality of the Solution for less than half the price and I can't justify doing it. I'm not a hard core, high speed guy, and the Solution would take care of 99.9% of what I need a knife that size to do. If it won't then my Busse Natural Outlaw will. I traded an EB-LS and bought the Solution and a Strider AD. I'm not saying that to brag about what I have, but to show that I have some higher priced, good reputation knives that I have compared the Solution to.

I paid $154 for mine. If KO has them for $139 you all should think real hard about buying him out.
