FIRST - I'm not attempting to churn up any waters that are now calm, I was just wondering how the whole "BF Auction & Classifieds" things is working out. I wondered if anyone here has actually purchased anything through the Auction or the Classifieds Areas?

I personally placed an Ad in the free For Trade section and ended up making a deal fairly quickly. Thanks to Sparkfor keeping this aarea free!

I made a purchase through the classifieds from one of the first 3 people who posted there. It went very well and was wrapped up in 5 days, which included a weekend.

The classifieds lack the comments and friendly banter that went back and forth on the For Sale Forum, but for straight forward buying & selling they work just fine.

No complaints from here.

I've had a very good amount of replies to my ad. I've also sold the items quickly on the other ads that were up last week. I like the new classified forum. It should be real good once it gets rolling.

I recently ran a thread complaining about ebay. I had no luck finding a deal. Within that very week I won an action on BF and it went perfectly. I bid, I won, I paid, they shipped. Not a hitch. Everyone in there is on the up and up IMHO (PS, I am not a seller trying to get you to go over there. I am strickly a buyer). Keep an eye on it and what you want will show up. Good luck!

I just sold a small Sebenza in the classifieds. I'm certainly no fan of the classified format, preferring the old For Sale Forum instead. However, I got a few responses to my ad, and ultimately a sale.

Yup. I won an auction last week, and it went very smoothly. I saved about $25 on a Kershaw Mini-task in LNIB condition. In my opinion, Ebay and the other auction sites I've used (Auctionarms.com) have grown too big to be useful. They're full of dealers that set a reserve equual to the retail price. I hope the BF auctions catch on enough to be successful, without getting too big.

Just a heads up guys, the auctions seem to be running 5x5 now, I finally was able to track down the auto invoicing bug so sellers and buyers should now know who won and how much they paid for it!
