I was wondering if anyone has purchased that KNIFELESS Fuse, and what do you think about it. Do you like it? Do you not like it? If you do not like it, why don't you?

I have it. It's a typical Fuse. I have only used it for travel once and although I didn't need it, it was nice to know that I had it with me. I didn't have any problems with TSA but another forum member did. I would suggest giving yourself extra time and handing it to the TSA agent to hand check. The tool itself is a good basic tool and should be good for a "knifeless" work environment.

1) Your experience with TSA may vary from day to day. In my extensive travels I have found very little, if any consistency within TSA, even at the same airport. You will not win the battle. The war possibly, but not the battle. IF TSA says something is not allowed, it isn't allowed at that checkpoint, at that time. You will not be able to "prove" otherwise.

2) If you travel international, then TSA is the least of your worries. While in some places the professionalism is better, in many places it is far worse. Also, some checkpoints can make TSA look down right helpful.

Hope this helps.

I don't care about the TSA stuff! I just want to know if it is a good tool or not. I ALWAYS have a knife on me, except, obviously when flying. I just want to know the good and bad about the knifeless Fuse. TIA.

Okay. IMHO it is well built with a minimal selection of tools. It's lightweight but a little large for the selection. In my experience the tools are robust and hold up well. Having said that if you are not concerned about TSA or other knife prohibited areas I think the Blast is a better Leatherman choice. Not much more weight for a better selection of tools.

Thank you Gadgetman7. I always carry a dedicated knife, so I was interested in the knifeless Fuse when I heard about them. I REALLY Do appreciate your response Gadgetman7.

I too am interested in knifeless multi. Are there any other options? Can I send on in to leatherman, and have the knife replaced with another tool?

Leatherman told me that they do not do custom modifications. (They will probably point you to the knifeless Fuse.)

AFAIK there are no other knifeless full size multitools by one of the big makers. However, you could remove the blade from an SOG Powerlock. They are designed to be customized by the user. You can also order different tools for the Powerlock directly from SOG. I have done this. The tool easily disassembles and reassembles. The quality of the tool is excellent. Actually, I did remove the knife because I needed a square drive and didn't really care for the knife.

Hello TheKnifeCollector,

I have the "knifeless Fuse" and think it to be a good tools IF LIKE YOU, you carry a separate knife. I like the file, but would worry that some over-zealous TSA person might get in a snite about it.

I actually find the Kick-Fuse-Blast family pretty neat. I'm wearing a SS Kick as I write this and, while a bit minimalistic, enjoy the lack of weight. As a serious Leatherman collector, the variations in this family (SS, SS-CC,BO, BO-CC & Knifeless) make for a nifty sub-collection.

Buy one & enjoy :)

Best - Joe

Hi Iron Man,

Not yet, but never say never. The knifeless Fuse is clearly a "let's test the waters" deal.

I did get a knife less Fuse as a gift recently. It was given to me for my trip. I love the thing. I always have a knife on me, so this is an excellent tool.
