I was browsing on Maxpedition's website and saw that they were offering fixed blades soon. Right now it looks like they are offering three sizes and with different blade shapes (clip, long clip, tanto and trailing point). They are all D2 steel, full length hidden tangs, come with kydex sheaths and are FFG. They look pretty promising to me and at a competitive price considering the specs. What do ya'll think?

My initial impression, the handles look rather blah for the price.

Interesting. I wonder if they will be "designed in the USA, Made in Taiwan" as their bags are.

Yes, they are imported. Made in Tawain according to the manufacturer's website.

Yes, they were supposed to have canceled these fixed blades because of them being direct copies of Maddog Knives.

There was quite a lot of press about these being shown at the SHOT Show 2014.

I saw the ad for these in the latest (June) issue of Blade magazine too.

As amused (and sort of in agreement) with the sentiment that some have expressed that they deserve each other, the knives aren't bad looking. I'm not sure why you'd want D2 for such a knife, but what the hey.

I dont know about there knives but I have few of their bags and love them.....Just because they are made in Tiawan doesnt mean their bad. Spyderco makes some of their best knives their and fit/finish wise I believe their best knives come from Tiawan. Dont like the whole copy idea at all will have to look into that
