Has anyone seen the new Emerson Kydex sheath for the Ciommander?

The folks at Emerson said that they have a new Kydex sheath that carries the knife closed on your belt and is designed to actuate the "WAVE" when the knife is removed from the sheath. The sheath is $39.00 and I was just wondering if anyone out there had ever seen or used one?

Any comments?

Well I haven't seen it yet, but as I live in the UK it's not surprising !

Is it designed to be worn with the shoulder rig already in production or is it a belt holster ? Any ideas ?

WOW! Never heard of it, but it sounds great. It'll save some wear on my pockets.
Thanks for the info.

Ernie had it in Atlanta this year, it was well made and worked as intended. I should have picked one up there if he had one for sale, I don't recall if it was. Just to add another option to the half dozen Commanders I presently own.

This sounds great. How do I get one? Could it be used or modified to be used for neck carry?

The knife locked into the sheath and the wave hooked through a hole in the side of the sheath. Drawing the Commander hooked the wave on the edge of the hole and flipped it open.

Here's the diagram from the patent filed with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office:

In the drawing, you can see how Wave hook (#24) catches on a lip (#38) of the sheath as it's drawn.

I knew you were going to ask that. I'm goin' by memory here (should have gotten a picture), but it was basically a Kydex "box" (for lack of a better term) and there was a hole in the side that the wave went through when the knife was snapped in. When the knife was drawn the hole caught the wave, kicking the blade open.

Jonas, I am so sorry, I did not mean to give the appearance of ignoring you. I only have Commanders and LaGriffes, and 1 CQC-7 so I tend to not have a bunch to talk about here, but check in from time to time.

Yeedude,

Do you have the other Patents for the Commander itself? If so, would you post them here for a Commander Freak's enjoyment?
