Has anyone seen these?

All the BG42 and S30 knives from Buck I've bought were heat treated by Bos. I'd say if you like that style knife and cost it's a can't lose prospect. I've got the Mayo TNT, and it's made very well. Joe

Seems like it would make an ideal neck knife.

I'd pick one up if I didn't have a Boker Subcom fixed blade and CRKT Ryan Plan B already.

Thanks for the feedback. I've not really gotten the bug for a neck knife, but was looking at some lightweight knives. This one in S30V seems to be a good bet.

So who's Bos?

This rings a bell. Seems to me I read an article about his processes being somewhat cutting edge so to speak. (nice play on words huh?)

How hard would it be to skeletonize the handle further. Say cut out the center two holes to within say 3/16ths of the front and back holes? Would it ruin the heat treat?

just got the buck hartstook in s30v ,,,,great little blade for the price,,i think the Buck Mayo Kaala would be a great buy,,,excellent steel,,very lightweight neck knife,,
