has anyone seen this before

I hope someone can give me some information on this knife/hatchet. I have had it approximately 20 years. I don't remember were I bought it and haven't seen one since. I beleive it is called a shatchet, but I not sure if that is correct.

Unfortunately, you cannot post pics DIRECTLY from your computer, You have to have them loaded on a server somewhere that allows pic hosting. Other forumites more technically gifted can help you figure out how to post a pic.

Hi,

I can't see your pic, but I'm guessing you have a Skatchet. These were imported, I believe, from Canada by Charter Arms about 25 years ago. They were billed as a survival tool/replacement for a knife,hammer,Ulu, etc... I guess they never went over well, because they are a bit hard to find today.

The Guns And Ammo Guide Book To Knives (1974) had a good write up on them in the Axe section (mixed review).

Thanks, at least I was able to get the picture from the camera to a file. Now that you mentioned Charter Arms, I think they are the ones who produced the Skatchet. I had is one for 20+ years and haven't seen another on since. I was curious if they were still around. Thanks again for the help. I just found this site and am already hooked.
