Has anyone sent an Automatic Knife to Dubai UAE

From the outset, i am not asking anyone to tell me how to break any laws or Federal directives, this is for information purposes only.

I have had several knives sent to me from varying countries all received with no problems whatsoever, i have not, as yet thought about ordering or buying an OTF or automatic knife and ask someone to ship it here.

That being said, i would like to hear from any of you who (without incriminating yourselves) may have had the opportunity to send one of these out of the US legitimately.

I have recently sourced a god reputable vendor here in the UAE who i have asked, with his permits etc to see if it is possible, however, as i say i am interested in hearing the communities thoughts on the matter..

Reading over the laws on automatic knives for the United States, it does not appear that it necessarily prohibits the sale of an automatic from a US company to a foreign country. The prohibition is against "interstate commerce" referring to transactions between the US's individual states. It is however possible that such US companies might be subject to export regulations or even Arms Trafficking laws I'm not familiar with. Not very likely, mind you, because knives are generally not covered and the laws on automatic knives in the US are considered antiquated, relics of the 1950s.

As for the laws of the UAE, I have no idea, because I don't read Arabic.

Are you an expat? If so, the laws may be sort of a double standard in favor of locals. If you live there, go to your nearest police station and just ask. Otherwise, you can order one and see if it gets taken by customs. Do not buy from American companies though, because I believe they have a law regarding export of weapons internationally.

Hi,
I live in Dubai and for the life of me I can't find a store here where they sell OTFs, stilettos or just about any other automatics. I stumbled on this forum whilst looking for answers online. I was wondering if you had any luck with getting any switchblades to Dubai from the US or elsewhere??
