Has anyone tried Google Chrome?

I have been having some strange cursor problems with Firefox on both my desk top and lap top. I have 3.5 on my desk top and 3.0.13 on my lap top. There are so many problems posted on the Firefox forum that I doubt it can be resolved there.

I am thinking of trying Google Chrome. Is anyone using it?

Oh yeah, the cursor problem. Sometimes I get a small blinking vertical box that goes along with the blinking cursor. Mine is different from those mentioned on the Firefox forum. It has up/down arrows inside the box and I can't click on anything in the main window. The only way I can get rid of it is to reboot. :grumpy:

What OS are you running? You might want to upgrade your flash plugin... I noticed some things on mine the other day related to flash, upgraded and it solved the problem. Hope this helps

I've never had the problems you mention with your Firefox so I can't comment there but I have used Chrome, although not much.

From the little I have played with it, it seemed like a pretty good and fast browser. My only complaint with it is that it didn't have the add-ons that Firefox has, (like noscript and adblock), so I didn't spend much time with it.

I'd suggest you give it a go, what have you got to lose?

Sounds like the Firefox/scroll issue I have seen many posts on.

I don't know more about it because I only came across these posts while researching a similar scroll crash issue that didn't involve Firefox.

That's about my experience. Chrome has a really nice, fast browsing experience, but the lack of add-ons ended up being the deal breaker for me. In fact, in every alternative browser I've tried, the lack of AdBlock has been the thing that I couldn't get past. But Chrome looks really good, is very responsive and seemed fairly stable to me.

I got an upgrade or something from Firefox a couple days ago, after it was done installing,I got a message to upgrade the flash plugin,I did that also and Firefox is still working fine.

I used FF3 for a long time, shifted over to Chrome. Love it, only site I have had trouble with is USPS. Go back to FF to use that one.

It's the small things like "awww snap chrome has crashed" that I like :D I really like chrome overall. Never had a prob w/ USPS though.

Might want to give OPERA a try, but other then that I had a very similar issue that the flash update cured for me. On a unrelated note I was having some issues till I updated my java plugin as well so you may want to try those.

Or if all else fails give Opera a shot as I'd use it over Chrome anyday (but thats just me)

I installed and uninstalled Chrome 3 times. Somehow, it still seems slightly "buggy".

And IMO Firefox is simply a better browser - faster, more reliable, more compatible, and more secure.
Also, it's protected by my anti-spyware program whereas Chrome isn't.

And I've found that using just one browser makes bookmarking easier and more useful.

I tried FireFox a while ago and wasn't happy with it. Updated to IE7 and that worked nicely. Upgraded to IE8 and that sucked. So I installed Chrome and I'm happy again. Much more fun to play with: simple, effective, no problems.

Opera's also a good alternative in this field if you're looking for low maintenance factor.

A fully tricked out Firefox with addons is leaps and bounds beyond most of the browsers out nowadays, but a default FF versus a Default Opera, Opera is the winner in that case.

As far as Chrome goes, last I checked, it's still an alpha stage tester with no guarantees; and while Google is pretty good with their software development, I'd rather wait for at least beta stage. But as the others have testified it's rather good.

And Esav, I'd recommend you never go back to IE again; it's probably the worst of the major competitors in the Browser market with so many security holes and general access issues that I can't really go into it here without severely derailing the topic. Give it a google if you're interested in the problems.
