"Introducing the World's Fastest Opening Pocket Knife...Does Not Use Springs or Gravity. Requires only one hand to open on either the left or right side pocket. Unique design allows the knife to open while being pulled out of the pocket. 1304

Open 9", Closed 5.5", Blade 4" "

The blade is a 440 stainless steel. Is 29.95+ship a good price? Has anyone tried their mechanism? Does it sound practical? ie When confronted by a dangerous person who is going to hurt me, can I just swiftly pull it out and slash him right away like a fixed blade? Thanks for any input, my knowledge base regarding knives is too small to make any decisions for now.

that knife uses a copy of an Emerson Commander blade mounted in a copy of a Crawford/Kasper folding fighter. The steel is low rent with a doubtlessly poor heat treat, and I wouldn't trust somebody else's fingers with the liner lock and assembly hardware.
YMMV :)

You can also get some spyderco's with waves on them - the same 'open on the edge of your pocket' feature.

Clearly an emerson clone, as folks have said.
But this one looks awesome for EDC:

I'll bet I could take on at least two ninjas at the same time with that knife.

I hate to admit it but I bought one of those on impulse about 3 or 4 years ago. I never used it, fought Ninjas or even carried it, a complete waste of money...

I gave it to a Friend of mine who thinks it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Now I feel bad , so I'm going to buy him a real knife.

Back to the Emerson Wave rip-off... don't buy the Emerson knock-off , get a real Emerson.

A Mini Commander is about 115.00, or get the Spyderco waved Endura. They both use the little hook to open when you remove it from your pocket.

The Spydie is just a little more money than the knock-off, but very high quality and an excellent guarantee....

Just saying 440 usually means 440A, which is a so-so steel. In the $29 dollar range, you can get better grades of steel. Shipping under $10 would be OK - so for 39.95, can you find a name brand knife locally? You would get better value for the money - that is the lure of the internet, everybody forgets the final cost to your door.
The wave mechanism does allow for fast deployment, depending on circumstances. Slashing your opponent does not necessarily stop an attack - I would strongly recommend learning bare hands combatives first, along with being environmentally aware, both which will prevent most confrontations.

A waste of money??? Why, that's the best tool ever for cutting kernels of corn off the cob through a picket fence.
