Has anyone had a chance to try the Tradesman Edge grinder?
The upsides that I see with it is that it looks really well built and that it has a couple different belt options that one can add, various mounts, and a Tormek rail for Tormek jigs. So supposedly it can be used to both sharpen any type of edge and also be used for fabrication. I also like that it’s possible to run it between 200 and 2000 RPM and that it runs very quiet. It should have enough torque too, but no specifics are listed.
The downsides is that there’s no water trough for running it wet, which I assume means that you’ll have metal dust in the air. It’s also in a different price category that even makes the Tormek look cheap.
I’m not aware of the benefits of DC over AC for a grinder – is it a gimmick or is it actually beneficial?
