Has anyone tried tumbling micarta scales/handle with ceramic media?

I have a cheap vibratory tumbler with a mix of ceramic media that I use for refinishing blades and titanium handles. Perhaps it can work for micarta? I love "soft" feeling micarta scales/handles, much more than the polished finish that feels alot slicker. I thought it might be a safe way to take a polished micarta to a rougher finish with more fibers exposed, repeatable and not too aggressive. I could be totally off base, just kind of thinking out loud. Curious if anyone else has tried it. Thinking about buying a cheap micarta knife for experimentation.

If they have I haven't seen it mentioned, but it might be worth giving it a shot.

I think the biggest downside to this is trying to clean very fine abrasive dust out of your knife afterwards.

i am putting the parts in individually, just scales, pocket clip, and blade. no hardware or anything like that, and obviously cleaning them before reassembly. but I believe i dont have the correct media for what I am looking to achieve, I'm not a machinist or a fabricator and have never done anything like this before so im just stumbling along and experimenting. still figuring it out.
