Has Anyone Used CS Peacekeeper?

I like the fact that the Peacekeeper is double bladed, but I don't like the fact that it's made out of 420. Has anyone ever used the Peacekeeper II? Is it adequate for salt water use? Is edge retention as poor as with other 420 blades? Cold Steel says the blades are not suitable for prying, but I thought that 420 was tough enough to bend.

I notice the knives are going out of production.

Thanks!

I have one that I've used for digging arrows out of wood and throwing at trees. No problems with it, good sheath and keeps a reasonable edge.

I think the fact that it's 420 probably drives a lot of people away from this knife. I got it because it has a double edge and got it at a great price. It does have a good balance and should work well in a marine environment, though it's not marketed for such use. Cold Steel is backing off this model and 420's lousy edge retention is probably why.

i have a peacekeeper that i have used in salt water.... there is a gap where the blade meets the handle the i filled with silicone to prevent the salt water from going into and i coated the blade with a silicone spray also.. it holds and edge failry well ive cut a couple cocnuts with it and throwin it at some trees... i am pleased with the way it performs i suspect the reason its not suitable for prying is becase it has a very thing blade to start with and its hollow ground into nothing

Death's Head, posts like that do not contribute to the thread. I don't wanna sound like a jerk but those posts just seem to make the whole thread a joke.

As for me i've only held the peacekeeper. I liked the handle on it and balance seemed fine. The only thing that bothered me was how thin the blade was as someone already said.

I searched around and got my BIL, who is in the military, a Peacekeeper in the original Carbon V. He loves it. It was wicked sharp. He hasn't used it in any hard way, but if you are leery of the 420, you can usually find a Carbon V one if you look around on the internet a little bit.
