Has anyone used one of these 12" Hibben throwing axes?

I want a ax to learn with that doesn't completely destroy targets at an alarming rate. On the other hand, I don't know if these are too light. I like Hibbens stuff, I have a few of his throwing knives.

I can't decide if I would rather have something with a straight handle. It looks like that may catch on your pinky finger on release.

Any input on these would be appreciated.

I've got one - been years since I threw anything, but I don't remember having any problems with it. I got it after trying to throw a few straight woodhandled "hawks" and realizing that the rotation on them is REALLY WEIRD! That, and I broke handles left and right. Got the hibben and all that went away. Fun little thrower.

his other model with the double sided axe and tip is really fun to throw. When you are far away all those points come in handy

I also have one of those axes and they just have a really short throwing range. (like 7 or 8 feet for me)

Interesting thrower though, and kind of neat to throw.
