I'm looking into some Boker knives that I like the design of. I'm a bit of a steel snob when I spend over $60. I've read about the composition of T6MoV, but not any info on its performance (i.e. chips easily, holds an edge, rust, etc.).

Just wondering if anyone has put this stuff to use and has an opinion or two. If it's crap, I don't want to buy the knife(s).

going to interactive knife steels the omly t6 i see has so much colbalt & tungsten i do'nt see how a knife could be made since it seems impossible to grind. maybe gator will pop in & eleborate.

No, what you are looking at is AISI T6 tool steel, what he was asking about is - Bonpertuis T6MoV.
Same as AISI 425M. TO be precise that steel is used in French cutlery. Dunno more than that.
Medium carbon stainless steel. I figure it'll be quite stain resistant and that's pretty much it.

Thanks, Gator97! I have had a couple knives made with 425M and it sucks at edge retention, but is so soft that it never chipped (just rolled over). I don't know if I'll get the more expensive model first, maybe the cheapest model in that steel just to see what it's like.

Thanks again!
