Is anyone using or have used the AMK 75 Knife Sharpener ? What do you think ?

Saw on Instagram where Neil Kamimura was using the AMK 75 and his knives are crazy sharp.
Looks like it would make short work of putting a hair popping edge on the big Busse knives.

Seems to be as quick as the Ken Onion WorkSharp with Blade Grinder Attachment but more steady and less room for error because there is an angle guide.
If one does not feel confident sharpening free hand it might be a great thing. But it is still possible to overheat the edge or stay to long at the same blade portion or round the tip off.

This system seems allows you to see and have a lot more control of the grind angle than the WorkSharp, But it`s a lot bulkier.

Compared to the standard model, yes. But with the Blade Grinder Attachment the WorkSharp result is as good as your hands are steady.

This looks like an excellent sharpener. As others have said, it definitely appears to take up a lot of desk space, but it looks like a pretty solid platform. If I didn't already have a wicked edge pro pack 2 I would consider this, since they are in the same price range. I like how with the WE not only do I have precise control, but since I'm using stones instead of a belt my chances of removing too much material too quickly and really making a mess of my knife are very low. On the flip side of that, using the WE takes forever to sharpen a large knife, especially if I want to do any reprofiling (which I often times like to do on my first sharpening of a knife).

I do not own a Ken Onion WorkSharp, but I have used one before, and to me, it's more of a toy than anything else. I'm not saying that excellent results cannot be achieved with a WS, but the blade grinder attachment requires a very steady hand to get good results out of. Also, I really don't like the tiny little belts that it uses, and the overall ergonomics of using it. We are of course not comparing apples to apples here when we talk about the WS, it's a sub $200 system as opposed to the WE and AMK-75 being ~$700; you can buy yourself a really nice knife for that price difference. For me, it's worth the added price for the added precision. Regardless, as knife enthusiasts we are fortunate to have so many excellent options.

Can you vary the belt speed on the WorkSharp? As a low speed would help avoid overheating the edge of the blade.

Yes, it has a very good variable speed. I've made garbage knives sharp as a razor. For me, I only use it for convex grinds, it's great for that, everything else goes on my EdgePro now that I've learned to use it properly.
