Has anyone verified blade hardness specs?

I've purchased many Chinese knives, most are inexpensive. Some have been premium with stated materials being high end with optimum hardness specs listed. My question has always been are the materials as stated and even if blade steel is as stated; was the blade heat treated to optimum listed hardness? Have any of you ever hardness tested your blades? I know tested would produce a noticeable mark on the blade flat. If so. have you verified the hardness specs?

Thanks in advance,

Just out of curiosity I checked hardness on couple of my Spydercos. Hardness was found within expectations, but this is Spyderco.
If you want to reduce the size of indent, use A scale, instead of C. You will need to use conversion table, but it is usually available at any place, where hardness is tested.

I think there is a thread out there that has the results of some testing, so some searching and you'll probably find it. I know its there somewhere.

If you really want a conclusive answer, you would either need to get the knife tested multiple times or on a machine that was very carefully calibrated. There is a lot of range in rockwell tests.

No. Inexpensive knives are made of inexpensive materials and processes.

If someone will stamp "Benchmade" on a blade that's not; I'm sure they would also be willing to stamp it with "S30V" just as easily.
