I've noticed that all the new Terzuola knives which have been added to web dealers inventories seem to be of framelock construction. I haven't seen a high end linerlock added since before Christmas. Come on Bob go back to linerlock construction!

I personally prefer framelocks. What is your reasoning for preferring a linerlock?

I'm not sure if he has changed over completely. You should contact Neil at True North Knives and see if he knows.

Bob T has definately NOT stopped making liner locks. In fact, he had a bunch of liners at the NY show a couple of weeks ago- dealers bought most of them. Bob is the "master" of liner locks and he's just branching out a bit. As for dealer inventory, a little bird told me there should be a bunch of new Terzuola liner lock inventory at True North in the near future.

I suppose that the personal appeal I have for the liner lock is that I consider Bob's design as something more than just utilitarian. I don't anticipate too many knife fights in my immediate future so the fact that his basic design is considered to be a tactical knife is of secondary importance to me. There is a certain simplicity and practicality of design which goes beyond just the potential for its utilitarian purpose. Examples of his basic design that appeal to me over other designers are his basic blade design coupled with the cuts at the top rear of the blade that act as a thumb rest/support and the perfectly placed cut out at the bottom of the handle for the index finger. The total package has a totally functional yet cosmetic appeal that I find strikingly coherent. The external cuts in the side of the frame to form the framelock just seem to diminish the simplicity that would otherwise be obtained by the use of an internal locking mechanism and the liner lock solves that problem perfectly at least for me.
