I was thinking a pretty cool limited edition piece would be a Buck slipjoint knife (ex. 303) and a Zippo lighter. Both are pocket items, very collectible, are American made and guaranteed for life. I personally don't smoke, but have a few Zippos that I carry when I made need a flame... ie. my kids birthday parties or camping. :]

Also another great company is Penn Reels that have been made in Philadelphia (some lower end models like Buck are made over seas.)for 70+ years. They have been making their Penn Senator offshore reels for 60+ years and have a model called the "112" that goes for about $80 that would be perfectly paired with Buck 112 Ranger.

I have better things to be concentrating on... but this is more fun.

Seeing as how Zippo owns Case, I think a Buck/Zippo combo wouldn't be in Zippo's best interest. Then again, I have been known to be wrong before. :)

That's why I made my own! I took a stock metal Zippo, removed the pin from the back of a Buck centennial hat pin, a little JB weld and Presto a Buck/Zippo.

A few Zippo dealers have got a kick out of it.

Wasn't aware of that. Which Buck models we're made by Camillus???

Most recently, Buck and Smokey Mtn Knifeworks did some stuff with Camillus for I believe 2000. Years ago both Schrade and Camillus made the 300 series for Buck.

yes they did have contracts out for slipjoint knives and the quaality control was so tight that 3000 knives did not pass as a for sale item and buck bought them any way and gave them to missionarys in the field to use. So this japain issue is not the first time bucks were not realy 'buck made' tho still usa made, rather buck ordered them to buck standerds, not unlike what they do now ... realy... i think .... would'nt you say so also?
