I feel spoiled by CRK to the point where when I see most other knives, unless there's something really special about them like Emersons where I love some of the handle/blade shapes and their history with naval special warfare, I get bored.
I watched a few videos from Blade 2017 and in almost all cases my thoughts of the knives were:
1) Look at those fasteners. They are proprietary and the company/knifemaker has a dozen or more different knife models, each with their own different proprietary fasteners, so in 10 years, if I lose or strip one, I'll never be able to get a replacement because by then they'll either be out-of-business or will have 100+ different models each with their own proprietary fasteners and aren't going to stock all discontinued ones forever. Whereas CRK, I can feel confident that even 20 years from now, I'll be able to get fasteners from my 90's era Regular Sebenza. Might not be original single-sided version, but will work!
2) If I take the knife apart, will I void the warranty?
3) If I take the knife apart, will I be able to reassemble it and have it go 100% back to perfect or will I be taking folded paper trying to carefully reassemble handle fasteners in a certain order, with a torque wrench, while chanting to the knife gods, to get it back in place?
4) If I scratch up the knife's finish from use or storage and decide to sell it, will I be able to send it in for a spa service and for a minimal cost, get a knife back that's nearly new?
5) If I decide I don't like the knife anymore, is anyone going to want it in 20 years to sell to? Or will it be one of 200 discontinued models by then that no one cares about?
In almost all cases, I shrug my shoulders and realize if I'm going to buy another knife, it should be yet another CRK!
