has the Epicenters production ceased, due to issues with the first batch?

I can't seem to find this knife anywhere.Its on backorder at pretty much all the regular shops.

Is it being redisigned due to the un-even scales or did the whole first batch sell out and the second is being made?

Any help from the inside would be great, as I'd really like to try this knife out( un-even scales or not)

No, production has not ceased, and the first run did sell out, although it was a small run.
It is being worked on to address the issues that arose, and will be going into a second run.
