Has the fear of a bad economy slowed your knife purchases? I have talked with several dealers who say that sales have slowed.

it has not slowed me down but i can sure see a change in the forums even my small engine and tractor shop has slowed sure hope it picks up soon

No. Although I am taking a bit of a breather after the SECKS.

Fortunately, my job is pretty much recession proof (federal government).

Hell no, got a Small Sebenza Woddie on order, and will picking up a BM 730 in the next 30-60 days.

The economy as not caused me to buy fewer knives, but I have pretty much nailed down all the knives in the sub 300 dollar catagory that really captured my fancy or needs. There are still some out there, but right now I am just thinking. If I get downsized, it will indeed have a huge effect.

Has the fear of a bad economy slowed down my knife purchases? no.

The RESULTS of a bad economy have slowed down my knife purchases because I took an income cut from all that's going on, i'm lucky to be making the $10/week that I do, more than my enemployed parents are making.

The only thing that has slowed my knife purchases is the state of shock I have been in since I bought my small Sebenza. A year ago I thought it was insanity to spend even a hundred for a knife. Then I found this place.

Not yet, but a prolonged slowdown in the economy will have an effect on not just myself, but many aspects of the industry.

The stronger and more effecient will come through it OK. The less realistic will go down the tubes. The makers with real good reputations will probably do OK, but will have to hang on for a rough ride. After all is said and done, they may be stronger than ever.

Fear of a bad economy has had no impact on my knife buying, it's my poor money management that has slowed my knife buying. :(

You'd think I would learn something as I get older.

No, the economy has had no effect on my knife buying. The fact that I am purchasing more expensive knives has meant that I can only afford to buy two or three a year.

Being in the advertising industry, we're taking a hard hit now that the economy is slowing. I guess it's only fair -- we were the ones that were taking all the dot-coms' money when it was flowing freely. Now it's payback time.

Since I anticipate my income to be about $30,000 less than the last couple of years, I've cut back on my knife purchases. I had been buying a knife about every 3 months; now I'm saving my money up for a purchase at the Badger Knife Show. Should have bought that Sebenza Kathathu when I had the cash :(

No reduction in either purchases or total expenditures - have 4 on order plus the BM 49-SPL Bali. I have minimal expenses but may regret the large knife budget if I get "riffed". In the meentime -- support our economy -- buy American knives !!!
