Has the para 2 demand died down

I go to BladeHQ everyday. And I noticed that there has been in the "New Arrivals" Digi camo Para2s in stock
And that has been for the past few days??? It was not that long ago that it would only be in stock for a few hours. Has the para 2 bubble burst? I should not say burst. More like the availability will be easyer for the rest of us.

I think they finally met the demand and those who wanted one or 9 finally got them. Now I'm sure there is another knife people will freak out over like the pm2, just give it time...

I think that it has died down slightly. The more people that buy one, the more people off of the waiting list. However, more and more kids are turning into young adults and wanting one, etc.

I don't think demand has waned that much - it's just a natural cycle.

The only reason they are not in stock everywhere is because there is a secondary market for them, which has actually kept a stable stock for a few months now.

The 2014 models were announced at Shot Show, and Spyderco did a press release for their 2014 line, second hand dealers are likely allocating money for the most desirable models in that batch. Also, PM2s have been sitting on the shelf for 150$ at Ebay for longer and longer as there have been more popping up here on the exchange used for <$100 and new ones popping up on Ebay for $120.

I wouldn't say demand has died down until a store like Blade HQ can actually get all the variations in and have them stay in stock for at least 2 weeks.

I showed my brother-in-law's wife my pm2 and my BINL was told to order one for her pronto. So, within 3 minutes it was found, paid for, and being processed for shipment. My daughter viewed a host of my knives and the one she picked up and liked the most was the pm2. Of course, her father will buy her one for her birthday. one of the ladies is age 40 and the other 50. From my viewpoint, the pm2 purchasing has not slowed down in this household. All this happened during the Christmas season.

I didnt think the demand was that high until they became harder to get so people hunted them down. I did notice that there are a few places that have them in stock and the price is back down where they were selling them for.

I was shopping on line for a UKPK and was pleasantly surprised to see the plain Jane black G-10 satin plain edged PM2 for a reasonable street price. I've been complaining for months about them not being available so I grabbed it along with the UKPK I was looking for with the total paid less than I have seen for just the PM2 up until now.

Online dealers are getting them but at any given time, I can look at my favorite dealers, seven of them and chances are they are all completely sold out of them so no, they haven't caught up even while pumping up production and demand is still very much there.

I've also been seeing more for sale online in the usual places. I've been eyeing the camo with dlc version and finally found one for sale at KW. They are gone now. Can't wait for it to arrive tomorrow! It is my second Para2. First time I've bought two of the same knife. Great blade!

I think the hype over the sprint models has fueled the demand for the standard models. There was a lot going on in 2013 with the anticipation of green PM2's, then all of the drama when they were actually shipping in various surges. And this was right after the brown, gray, orange and blue models had hit which had interest already at a good level. Now that excitement from those sprint runs has died down and there are no new sprint announcements to talk about, I think the demand has died down. I'm still interested in a digi/satin for a RIT dye project so maybe I should try to grab one now.

The word hype doesn't actually fit in regards to the Para2 imho. Some may be coming available but I'm sure they will sell briskly,I just bought a second one to have for back up. ;)

I love my para2. It is the best knife that I have ever owned. And I have owned a few :))
I am done for now. I am just waiting on my Direware Hyper90 :)

I think the shortage is over. I just got an email that my favorite Mom & Pop shop just got in 18 satin black PM2s and selling for them under 1 benjamin. I might get another share (to go with with my other 14 PM2s).

i have been wanting one for quite some time now. but they are hard to find and if you can find one they aren't cheap. a military for me is too big , so the para military would be just right. too bad they don't have any with the full spyder edge. i have a tenacious with the full spyder edge and thats great. i picked up a older new in box harpy at a surplus store here in arizona. owner told me he bought a bunch of collector knives from estate sale. the knife has what seems to be g10 with ats-55 steel. he also had a orginal military with full spyderedge. i was tempted but that knife is huge.

It's good: I thing having a product available in store for anybody who wants to buy it is the normal situation. Having stock-outs is not normal and is in contradiction to a good business sense. Unless the manufacturer, or rather a brand owner, has got a special marketing strategy built on a hype.

Price maxed out IMO, also with new offerings I have a feeling some are saving up for some of the new goodies.

I want an all black one to go with my all black military. I am on the waiting list on several websites. This morning i got an email that one website had them in stock. By my lunch hour, they were sold out. :(
