Has there been a change in Benchmade 940 anodizing color?

I got another 940 today. My original is from September 2010. The first thing that stood out is the difference in handle color

new on the top, original on the bottom

Has my older one brightened up over time (don't think so), or has there been a bit of a color shift? Anyone notice this?

That's a shame. I loved the color of the old 940's. Is the spacer the same purple color?

I anodized my old one green so couldn't tell if you it's precisely the same color, but it is indeed purple still

I too have an older one that looks more like your top photo. I bought a new one a few years ago and it looked like the bottom one.

I much prefer the top one, mine's closer to the bottom :/

I just purchased one a couple of weeks ago and it looks like the one on top. For what it's worth, no way I would have went for it in the bright green.
