Has this ever happened to you?

Was going through my collection earlier today, and noticed something strange. This was totally unplanned--I literally "buy what I like", and sometimes (gasp!) use some of my knives, too.

Now, I've been called many things in my life, but "colorful" was never one of them. Now, perhaps, I know why?

Now I'm wondering if anyone else out there has "discovered" something about their collection (or in my case, a significant part of my collection) that wasn't readily apparent or planned?

I have found that I am moving away from normal browns and especially black and on toward vibrant colors in all of my knives, custom or production. Plus I think that I am almost done with neck knives!

Hi Bluejaunte,nice collection.
Is that the AG Russell one-hander on the top left in your picture.
If so how do you unlock and close that knife?.
Hav'ent seen that type of a lock mechanism before.Thanks.

Obviously, Aaron, you like knives in cool silvery tones. Could be worse, like pink! :p

I still carry the scar on my head from the hawkbill.

Well David.......you opened the door....

I am sure that on your head...the scar is still visible :D

Yeah, pushed my forehead into a running worn 400 grit belt while adjusting the plunge lines on the hawkbill blade. Was looking through my Optivisor because I was having trouble getting both sides even. Thought my head was about 8" away. Got a nice pink oval spot. Would have been worse if it was a new 50 grit belt.

You'd be in real trouble if it had happened to you. It would have taken off a lot of hair, something I don't have to worry about.

I'd post a picture, but my BF account isn't set up for it.

Hi Raj, yes, that is a one-hander. I'm fairly certain it's Pat Crawford's design?

I like that this pic has my three integral folders in it--the One-Hander, of course, the Scott Cook Lochsa on the lower right, and Bailey's Integraframe Bushi in the upper right.

Now there's a new collecting theme, integral folders! Going to have to ponder that one.

David, you're lucky you only hit the belt with your forehead and didn't contact the blade on that hawkbill. It's absolutely WICKED. It gets quite a bit of pocket time--I've found the blade shape to be very useful in my day-to-day cutting tasks. You can probably see the scuffs on the handle.

I'd say the three most-carried knives in that photo are the David's hawkbill, the Lochsa, and Bailey's self-lock utility folder in the lower left. Some, like the Elishewitz, never make it out of the safe except for pictures.
