Hello all,

Been busy but decided to catch up on the Boob-Tube this evening. I know alot of you like to bookmark movies that highlight the balisong and be darned if I didn't see one tonight. Just not sure if it has been noticed before or mentioned in a previous thread.

A movie called "The Mask". (not Jim Carey). Stars Cher and Sam Shepard to name a few. Not too far into the movie, Sam hands his son a balisong during what appears to be a biker get-together. Nothing more than the son using both hands to expose the blade between the handles then closing it again and stashing it away. Later on, he uses it in the open position to point out to his friend all the places in Europe that he wishes to travel. The kid is stricken with a very rare disease that causes the bones in his skull to have abnormal calsium deposits.

Is this old news or did I stumble on to something? Hope everyone is well!

Best regards,

Never heard of it, but it certainly sounds cheesy enough to have a good balisong scene! Has anyone ever scene a movie that stars tupac shakur and is about gangs, where a gang member (surprise) does a pretty smooth basic double flip and threatens tupac?

There was a flick called "New Jack City", but I can't remember that much about it, or if T.S. was in it.

Hey.......... I remember that movie. But for some reason I don't remember seeing a Balisong in it.

Unless I'm mistaken, that was a true story.

The movie your referring to is called "Mask" not "The mask".
Yes it is a true story based on the life of Rocky Dennis, and the role of Rocky was played by Eric Stolz.Very good movie,I saw it numerous times and enjoyed it everytime i saw it,although it has a very sad ending.

That's it...Dennis, I've been trying to remember his name. Appreciate the input.

Regards,
;)

It was on the tube here the other night and now that you mention it I do remember watching Sam giving a bali at a biker rally

Mask is one of those Respectable Movie Dramas that comes along and surprises you, once in a while. All the actors in it did an excellent job. It's not the end-all, be-all of cinema, but it's a good film.

Anyone see Joe Dirt? It's goofy as hell but a fun movie. Anyway, there was a short balisong scene in there.

Joe Dirt was pretty funny...don't remember the bali scene though. When in the film does it happen?

Flashback to when he was a kid in a 'troubled children' camp and a small group of older boys walks over to him. One is casually flipping a bali.

I saw Don't Say A Word this past weekend, and I THINK that I saw a bali in there, very breifly, but it was there. It was a scene were a bad guy was chasing Michael Douglas' wife around, and he busted out a knife, and of course since he's a bad guy, it was a bali. I could be mistaken, since there was no manipulation involved, he was just holding it open walking through the house. If anybody else has seen this movie, or if you're planning on seeing it, keep an eye out for it.

Peace,
George
