Received this from Yangdu yesterday. From previous posts, I understand this is an agricultural implement. Quite an impressive piece of hardware. Good workmanship by Sher. 9 3/4" blade, 15" overall, 1/4" spine with no distal taper. Weight about 14 oz. Stick tang, nice wood, brass tassel. I likes it! :)

They sure do get fancy to do the farming. :)

Sure is pretty. Not sure what I"d do with it, but not sure what I"d do with most of my knives. :) Only so many big fixed blades, khuks, folding knives, machetes, etc that you can use at one time. :)

That knife has always interested me even though I have no wheat, corn, or bean to harvest.

I snagged the 13 oz. Hasiya Khurti.
When I look at it, all I can think is "Heads will roll !!!" :D
This week I also snagged the
Tezdar by Sher. Antler handle.
AK Bowie by Kumar.
Thrisul model by Y. B. ? Nice chiruwa handle.
Nepali Tarwar by Bura. , and the
JKM by Kumar. Antler handle

It's been a good week!!! :D :D

That's really a lovely piece and one I wouldn't mind having at all.
That hooked blade could do a tremendous amount of damage to life and limbs it wasn't meant to. :D

The inside curve and pointy tip make it superior for cutting up cardboard boxes! Just make sure to keep your limbs out of the way when the blade flies clean through....

I'd be interested to know exactly how the Nepalis use these in farming. Of course anyone could swing one of these at some plant material, but I'm sure they know how to use them a lot better than we do. Anyone have pointers or suggestions?

I tried for the last one a year ago and both of these because I have ornamental grasses that need to be cut regularly.

It was posted once that the real tool the villagers actually use is far too ugly to export, but I have asked Yangdu to get me one for the real dirty work. I would have hated to use such a beauty on such a mundane task.
