"Our Own Hardware" was evidently a chain that merged with HWI in 1998 and the combined company was renamed "Do it Best".

Thanks Steve. Does anyone know the history of this store's axes? I did see some axes on eBay that had the same mark (like in your photo), and they're obviously older than the 90s. Thanks

Many old time hardware stores carried re-branded or house branded axes which were made by the major axe manufacturers. It looks like a vintage head and a vintage handle but it's obviously be re-hung recently. I wouldn't assume that it's the original handle for that hatchet.
